Chippenham Harriers is a friendly running club based in Wiltshire. We have over 300 members and provide opportunities for runners of all levels to train, race and compete. Keeping the best interests of members at the forefront of our training sessions and events, we encourage club spirit, personal development and a shared love for running.
We meet on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening at the Chippenham Sports Club on Bristol Road. We also hold. These training nights are for runners aged 17 and over except Wednesday which is when our Youth section meet during school term time.
On Mondays we meet in the sport dome for Physical Prep, Tuesdays we do effort sessions, Thursdays we run predetermined routes between five and seven miles. These sessions are great for any experienced runners who can comfortably run around six miles. Friday’s training is aimed at people who can already cover distances of 3miles+ and would like some support to progress further. If you are new to running or would like to make a running ‘come back’ we recommend our Beginners Programme, held once a year in the spring. If you can already run 3 to 6 miles comfortably but are new to the Harriers, Thursdays (5+Miles) & Fridays (3+Miles) are great evenings to come along and join us for a social run.
There is free parking, changing rooms and showers at the Sports Club.
The club organises a number of races each year – Chippenham Half Marathon, Slaughterford 9, Lacock Relays and the 5K River Run and Family Fun Runs. Members can compete in the annual Club Championship.
As well as training, we also get together for social events throughout the year including our annual Summer BBQ and Christmas Awards Ceremony.
Chippenham Harriers is affiliated to UK Athletics (UKA) and England Athletics.
