Chippenham Harriers has a number of hard-working volunteer running coaches, coaching assistants and leaders who have earned accreditation from the sport’s governing body UK Athletics (UKA). If you are interested in becoming a coach or leader, please click here to find out more information and speak to a committee member. The club can provide financial help towards the cost of a coaching or leader course.

Our Athletics Coaches are qualified to plan progressive training programmes and coach activities in running, jumping and throwing on a technical level. Their qualification covers athlete development, co-ordination and balance, speed and endurance running, jumping and throwing, physical preparation and more.

Coaching Assistants
Our Coaching Assistants have developed technical knowledge to underpin running, jumping and throwing. They are insured to help deliver all aspects of a session, whilst supervised by a Coach. Their qualification covers movement skills, warm ups and cool downs, speed work and endurance running and the mechanics of jumping and throwing.

Our Visually Impaired Guide Runners have all attended a Sight Loss Awareness and Guide Running workshop. Their qualification covers visual impairment (VI) and the skills and knowledge needed to make running sessions VI friendly.
