Chippenham Half Marathon

The Chippenham Half Marathon is run over a fast, accurately measured and predominantly flat course starting and finishing at our club base Chippenham Sports Club. The route will go through the centre of Chippenham and then follow scenic country lanes visiting local villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon and Langley Burrell. This event is ideal for first timers or experienced long distance runners looking to achieve a personal best. We host a dedicated website for this event, that can be accessed by clicking here

Chippenham River Run

The 5k River Run and 2k Fun Run follow a largely traffic free multi-terrain route along the banks of the River Avon, starting and finishing in Monkton Park, near the Olympiad Leisure Centre.

The River Run is a great community event which attracts people of all abilities and ages. The 5k distance means that it is ideal for the beginners and the inclusion of the Fun Run makes it the perfect summer evening event for families.  The 5k is open to anyone aged 13 and over and the Fun Run is for 4 – 14 year olds.

Lacock Relays

This is a summer series of short relay evening events in this picturesque Wiltshire village of Lacock, a short distance from Chippenham and other local Wiltshire towns. The event takes the form of a number of relays races held over several high summer months. The course is a circular course out from Lacock towards xxxxx and then loopingback into the village from the …….. Each relay team is formulated by the race director from estimated time to complete. The concept is that each of the members in the team are pitted against similar ability athletes and that each team will have a similar aggregate time. The final race in the series is usually a single lap handicap where every athelete competing in the previous relays races on their own and staggered so that everyone is targetted to complete the course at the same time. This is an extremely popular and very social event attended by many of the local running clubs.

Slaughterford 9

This is a multi-terrain race over 9 miles of steeply undulating countryside, carrying a sting in its tail!  Whilst tackling 900 feet of ascent/descent in the Slaughterford valley, runners will encounter tarmac, stony paths, fields, tracks and green lanes. The course is 75% off-road, the route is marshalled and arrowed, there will be a water station provided. Numbers a limited each year so booking early is advised. Race HQ is normally based at the football club on Leafy Lane, with a short walk to the race start on the other side of the A4.
