To add some fun and friendly competition to our usual Thursday night winter route, we’re offering you the option to run it backwards as a time trial once a month! Whether you’re using it as a threshold run or even holding back for weekend race, this will help you gauge how your training is going. It can be run flat out, but doesn’t have to be.
The time trial is open to all club members and will run for the duration of the winter route. A league will be kept for those taking part in the winter time trial, and the results will be posted here shortly after each timed run. You’ll earn points for attendance as well as placement. The top female and male runner will be crowned Winter Queen or Winter King respectively and will receive a reward!
The route will start and finish at the lower Sports Club car park. A map will be available for anyone unsure of the route. Please note that the time trial is on an unmarshalled route. Any dangerous running will be an instant disqualification.
The time trial is optional, so if you don’t want to do the timed sessions, you don’t have to and you can run your way.
