Kilometre 1

The race starts on the road and heads north towards Marshfield. After 300m hop over a stile to the left and head across the field down the hill to another stile.

At the bottom of the hill, hop over the stile and run to the next stile which leads onto the bridleway.

This has had a lot of new stones and gravel laid for this year (2005), so you don't want to go that way, do you. So after 100m, head over the stile to the right and down to the stream.

The stream and the path become one, so this is where you get your first serious mud. Coupled with overhanging branches, this is a slow downhill bit.
