We meet on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at Chippenham Sports Club on Bristol Road. We also hold weekly physical preparation sessions on Mondays. These training nights are for runners aged 17 and over.
For those aged under 17, our youth section meets on Wednesday evenings during school term time.
On Tuesdays we do speed sessions and on Thursdays we run between five and seven miles. We advise new members who can comfortably run between five and seven miles to attend on a Thursday for their first session.
Friday’s training is aimed at people who can already cover distances of 4, 5 or 6 miles and would like some support to progress further. If you are new to running or would like to make a running ‘come back’ we recommend our Beginners’ Programme, held twice a year in the spring and autumn.
There is free parking and changing rooms/showers at the Sports Club.
The club organises a number of races each year – Chippenham Half Marathon, Slaughterford 9, Lacock Relays, 5 Mile Road Race and Family Fun Runs and the 5K River Run and Family Fun Runs. Members can compete in the annual Club Championship.
As well as training, we also get together for social events throughout the year.
